Heartland Art Center and the Marshall County Church Orchestra invite the community to experience “Images of Sound”, a unique fusion of live music and visual art on Friday, October 11th, at the Heartland Art Center. This special concert will feature selections from Pictures at an Exhibition, the celebrated composition by Modest Mussorgsky, arranged with inspiration from the famous orchestral “colorist” Maurice Ravel.
The evening promises a memorable artistic collaboration, with live painters from the Heartland Art Center creating original works inspired by the music as it is performed. The program includes a performance by the renowned brass quintet, The Brass Boys, from IUSB, followed by the Marshall County Church Orchestra, under the direction of Alexandra Jeffirs.
Doors open at 6:00 PM, giving guests the opportunity to enjoy a complimentary beverage and explore the Heartland’s 36th Annual Juried Regional Exhibit, featuring the work of over 80 artists from Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, and Texas. The exhibit, showcasing an array of artistic talent, will be on display throughout October.
Tickets are $20 and include one beverage ticket. A cash bar and light snacks will also be available. Seats are limited, and tickets can be purchased online HERE or in person by visiting Heartland Art Center during open hours.
The Marshall County Church Orchestra is a non-denominational group that brings people together through music, while The Brass Boys is a talented quintet from Indiana University South Bend, known for their dynamic performances.
