Better Light, Better Photos is a 2.5-hour
mobile photography class that teaches
you how to work with the most powerful
– and most accessible – tool you have:
the light that’s already around you. Using
just your iPhone or Android phone, you’ll
learn how natural light and everyday light
sources (like lamps, windows, overhead
lights, and even reflective household
items) shape the mood, clarity, and emotional
impact of your photos. Through
simple demonstrations and guided
practice, you’ll begin to understand what
your camera sees and more importantly,
what light is doing before you ever take
the shot.
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll explore the four essential lighting directions
(front, side, back, and top light), experiment with soft and hard light and discover
why the same scene looks completely different in morning, midday, and
evening light.
By the end of class, you’ll leave with new images, new skills and a new way of
seeing. Because better photos don’t come from better equipment, they come
from understanding the light you already have.
