Nancy Arsenovic has been painting since 2010 after her retirement as a career missionary in Eastern/Western Europe. She is basically self-taught and has been a member of the St. Joseph Valley Watercolor Society for five years. She has shown and sold her works locally in Maryland, West Virginia, and now in the South Bend area.
Her work is influenced by her life in European cultures and her love for nature. She especially loves painting “narratives” about interesting people. Her work has been described as “direct,” “fresh,” and “joyful.” Her technique is a combination of realism and impressionism. She describes her work as autobiographical: “I don’t keep a diary; I paint.”
Come and view 34 of her works at the Heartland Art Gallery, Plymouth, Indiana, during the month of August.
